“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.  Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”  Rumi

I reconnected with a good friend in the business today, and admitted that I have been hidden lately.  It’s an interesting challenge when someone whose mission is to help the light workers come out of hiding goes into an interior space where outer actions begin to lose their meaning…..so that something new can emerge.  No newsletter, not much promotion or marketing…..and lots of deep breathing.

My friend’s words struck a chord:  You're having an Eckhart Tolle park bench moment that seems to extend itself. Life always produces new beginnings. It's life.”  She was right on.

She was referring to the spiritual teacher who sat for 2 years on a park bench, after a long depression, and began to see life in a very new way.  Sitting, observing, emptied out, no longer striving, Echhart Tolle began to change people’s lives by simply speaking with them.  He became known as a Mystic who could help others let go of suffering.

The rest is recent history, with a world-wide webinar with Oprah among the many achievements that Tolle just allowed.  He drew all that to him.  He really did.  He also wrote a book, from that place he cultivated on the park bench.

There are people who mock the movie the Secret by referring to the myth of just “sitting on the couch imagining what you want.”  Indeed, there are many so-called spiritual folks who imagine great things, and never manifest them into a viable reality.  For those in the know, that is not the message of the Secret, which seemed to fall short on the logistics end of manifestation, but never intended for any of us to simply sit on a park bench.

Whether the couch, the park bench, or walks through the woods, some of us must pull back and re-orient ourselves to what is wanting to emerge NOW.  That re-orientation is not on any list of the essential marketing tactics to become known and successful in this world.  No, it is not on any list.  It is a call from your Soul.

How do you know the difference between a stuck state of procrastination, where you are afraid to make a decision, and one of those crossroads where you feel your destiny calling, and where it is essential that you not rush to action in the old way.

Here is a quote from Abraham, which will help with any re-orientation you need:

“Your joy factor will remain constant as you are continually refining your ideas of what you want, and that’s why it’s so important for you to get everybody out of the equation. They’ve got their own game going on; they don’t understand your game.  Give them a break; stop asking them what they think.  Start paying attention to how you feel.  Joy will be yours immediately, and everything else that you have ever thought would make you happy, will start flowing, seemingly effortlessly, into your experience.”

Imagine that!  It is essential for each of us to take the time to have an extended park bench moment if we are to create the life and business we really want.  When it comes, welcome it.  If fear is involved, ask if it is stopping you, or if it is the beginning of a new wisdom breaking through, trying to get you to pay attention to something you have not allowed in.

Today, the marketplace is saturated with wannabe’s and copycats.  The good news is that only authenticity is sustainable, and you may as well take the time to know what is unique and real about you.

In the course of my work I have met many people who have created lives they don’t really want.  I have done it myself, and it is beyond painful.  The worst part of it is that you cannot offer your most brilliant gifts to the world.

Take time to step back.  Breathe deeply and notice those survival instincts kicking in telling you to take massive action before you are ready.  Go deep and hone the skill of listening to your soul.

And then, do something.  Get some guidance.  Find a safe and wise sounding board for what is coming through.  Identify what is really important.  Find the one next step you need to take to move you in the direction of what is most important to you.

Our culture as a whole, and certainly the business culture that has emerged online  in the past few years, can be internalized as a harsh voice telling you to “get with the program.”

There is a new program being created, and possibly, just possibly, you are a part of it.
