“Everyone wants to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.”  –Opray Winfrey

My friend, Venus Reese from Defyimpossible.com  taught me something really important. She said, “Money is a heart condition. If you want to make big money, you have to heal your heart. If you want to know how you feel about yourself, look at your bank account. “

Ouch, that hurt. I am on the upswing now, but I am one of those people who had a lot and lost it all. I was not fully healed. The moment she said it, I knew it was true. Because I was so open to the love and wisdom she had to share, and because she was so willing to give it, I got it. I got what she meant. It sent shivers down my spine and back up again. It is the difference between doing something to get money, and healing something to let money in.

In that moment, I knew wealth was a heart condition, and that living a wealthy life meant that my heart was healed enough to receive—to fully take in—-the abundance of love, money, friendship, health, and everything else that I could desire. It is all there, knocking on my door, if I have the eyes to see, the ears to hear, and the courage to open and let it in.

What I mean by wealth, and what is now called Soul Purpose Wealth, after the first Soul Purpose Wealth Retreat, is a way of being and living that has everything to do with desire……with fulfilling desires and dreams that come from your true self—–the desire for touch, love, affection, community, beauty, creativity, pleasure, and every possible yummy reality of being human. Goodness, countless religions have been created to keep that energy down.DISCIPLINE IS REMEMBERING copy 2

In the past, we have been taught that absence of desire leads to inward peace. Desire got a bad rap. More masculine expressions of stillness and a focused mind have been considered god-like. This is all good stuff, but the energy of desire needs to be addressed. It is the energy of the feminine, of receiving.

When we suppress our desires because we are conditioned to survive, which is true for most people,  survival trumps whatever else you think you might want. By survival, I mean the part of the brain that is all about staying alive. It is reptilian, primitive, and lives in the eternal now.

When something triggers your survival brain in the present moment that is similar enough to the past, wham! You have a conditioned response—a survival response—that doesn’t look like a wild animal, but usually looks something like this, and it's all a brain thing:

• The need to be self-sufficient, and not take in support
• The need to know it all, so that you cannot learn anything newbrain
• The need to win, even if it cost the connection
• The need to appease another by caring for them
• The need to pretend to agree, so as to avoid conflict

Basically,  you do what you do over and over again.  You avoid, procrastinate, argue, make excuses.  And it ain’t pretty. Survival—it’s repetitive and never leads to wealth. We learned to do it when we first were not seen, heard or understood for what we were really feeling in our hearts.

As Venus says, “Survival is what happened when you got your heart broken.” You need to be gentle and forgiving with yourself, and compassion will be your best friend as you heal your heart.

Survival has a very low and heavy vibration, that closes down possibility. It is the vibration of scarcity. When you have these conditioned responses and your mind and heart are not open to the dimension where dreams live.

We all have this. Yes, to be human means you have a survival reaction. To heal from that means you open to possibility, and you use the God-given gift of free will to choose a new way. You shed the limiting beliefs and stories that shape your reality and begin to fully embody and embrace the value you bring to the world.  It is a journey of deep self-forgiveness and self-love.

Part of embracing the value you bring to the world is allowing Spirit to move through you, as you are no longer laden with guilt and condemnation of failure. It means letting in love, and support, and the reflection of others on the path of freedom to help build your confidence.

Wealth really is a heart condition. It has to do with the innermost sanctuary of the human heart being a place of peace and deep joy, as the dreams that came from that heart are realized on the earth plane.

Imagine living like that. Your innermost dreams and your outermost reality begin to line up.

The vision of a business you had 6 years ago is happening now.

The vision of a partnership you have carried your whole life is happening now.

The vision of the child you imagined over and over is now crying for you.

The vision of a future for humanity where we are all self-expressed and sharing and thriving….is also happening right now.

I have been in the business of healing hearts for over 25 years, and my own continues to heal, thanks to those who take the time to see who I am.

We all need it. We cannot heal alone. We need someone to ride the bus with us when the limo breaks down.
